Happy Easter

We had a very fun Easter.  Uncle Chris came into town for the weekend.  The kids enjoyed jumping on his bed in the morning.  They also had the chance to dye Easter eggs.  We had an Easter egg hunt at a local park and the weather was nice.  Jack ran around constantly saying "Uncle Chris."  Both kids are doing well.  Jack is talking in complete sentences, which is very cute.  Caitlin is still full of energy.  She has started gymnastics and seems to be enjoying the extra run, jump and flip time.

Moving

Well a lot as been happening to us, although you can not tell from the blog.  The big news is that we have decided to move to California.  I recently accepted an offer to work at California Lutheran University.  It is a small university in Thousand Oaks.  Kim is beginning to send out applications.  We are hoping to move in early July.

New Bed

Caitlin got a new bed. She is sleeping very well in it.

Winter Storm

We had a nice February storm this past week. The temperatures have dropped and it feels like winter. However, we did get plenty of snow to play in. Jack has begun to enjoy sledding down the backyard hill. Caitlin loves the snow and makes great snow angels.

Has it already been a month

Wow, times is going by quickly. Caitlin has finished her ballet classes for the time being. She did well in the classes, but will return to more active sports like swimming and gymnastics for a while. Jack is doing Soccertots. He has good balance. He can move a knocked over cone to an upright position using just his feet. He enjoys the class and follows directions fairly well. Similar to Caitlin he likes to help out, so he can be more excited about clean up time than the activities.

Grandma and Aunt Noella came for a wonderful visit. The kids enjoyed the extra attention. They very much enjoyed giving hugs to everyone just before bed time. The kids also took to playing catch with Aunt Noella. We had a couple of nice meals out and the kids behaved well. In all it was a great visit, but a little too short.

Caitlin and Kim have also started skiing. They have been to Mount Spokane twice this year. Caitlin took a lesson during the first trip. She loves the snow. Jack is not a big fan of the snow, although he is getting the hang of shoveling. We took him on the last trip, and he and I enjoyed drinking hot coco in the lodge. While leaving the mountain Caitlin told me she would do better with a snowboard, and would teach me when I am ready to learn. The other day she also said she wanted to grow up big and strong like God.

Caitlin will get a new bed tomorrow. Well, we are converting her toddler bed into a full size bed. She is very excited.

Jack Jack is learning to talk very well. He speaks in phrases, and can communicate most of his wants. He seems to want anything that Caitlin is playing with. The other night after dinner, he took his plate to mommy who was doing dishes and said "Thank you mommy." It was precious.

Okay, I will try to get back to weekly posts so that I do not bore people with such long ones.

Ballet and Soccer Tots

Jack had his first Soccertots practice. Although it took him a little time to warm up to the coaches, he had a lot of fun running around. He followed directions as well as can be expected for a one year old. We will see how he does this week. I will try to get some pictures as he gets more comfortable.

Caitlin has been enjoying her ballet class.
