Caitlin learns something new every time she sees Izzy. When Izzy visited us, Caitlin rolled over within two days. When we went to California and returned home, Caitlin sat up on her own within two days. After this last trip Caitlin returned home and was able to crawl. She is adorable when she crawls.

The Trip Home
The day after the party we were able to spend time with Mary, Izzy, Grandma and Papa Gizmo. Caitlin adores Izzy. We then had a teary goodbye as we left Santa Barbara. The rest of this blog is just me venting.
We arrived in San Francisco Airport at 6:45. We had a schedule departure of 9:30. However, the plain was delayed. It kept being delayed by 20 minutes, until around midnight the flight was cancelled. We quickly got in line to find a new way to get home. The best the flight available according to the airline was the next day leaving at 6:00 pm and getting to Spokane at 10:15 pm. Being told it was the best we accepted the flight. We requested that our luggage be removes as it had the formula for Caitlin. The United agent told us the bags were come out in a few minutes. We then waited a half hour for the bags, and checked with the baggage personnel. Now we were told the bags might come out soon. We waited another half hour, and no bags. While waiting for our bags we talked to other stranded passengers who had been rebooked for flights leaving early in the morning the next day. This upset us, because we had been in line before the other passengers rebooked. We then went to the ticket desk, but nobody was there since it as 1:15 in the morning. So we called the United number. We spent the next 40 minutes talking with the agent and being placed on hold. We were finally rebooked on an earlier flight on Alaska Airlines. We then went to catch the shuttle to the hotel, which we just missed and would come back at 2:20. We finally made it to the hotel and went to sleep around 3:00 am. We woke up at 7:00 to start our trip home. We took the shuttle and got in the Alaska Airlines ticket line. When we got to the desk we were told that we did not have a ticket with the Airline. We had a confirmation number, but it was not for wither Alaska or United Airlines. So we waited on hold again with a United Agent to get us booked on the flight. After a half hour we finally got rebooked. We then had to run through security and just barely made boarding. From there on things went smoothly, until we went to get out bags. But that is enough complaining for one day. I just recommend people do not fly United Airlines. Alaska Airlines were wonderful.

Grandma Gizmo's 70th Birthday Party
On Sunday we celebrated Grandma Gizmo's 70th birthday. We started with a trip to church. Amazingly enough all seven grand kids made it through the entire mass. Then we headed to Padaro Beach Grill for a nice lunch. Then we headed back home for some games of marbles, pin the tail on the donkey, and other festivities. It was a wonderful day. It was one of the rare times that all 19 of us were together. Hopefully we can get together yearly for such celebrations.
Nathan's Birthday
Shortly after Grandma and Grandpa returned to Connecticut, we had another trip to California. The trip began with a couple of nice flights to Santa Barbara on Friday. On Saturday Caitlin spent the morning with Grandma, Papa Gizmo, Mary, Roberto and Izzy. Caitlin learned a lot from playing with Izzy. Then can for a drive to Santa Maria for Nathan's birthday party at Chucky Cheese. The party was a great time for all.

Grandma and Grandpa's visit
Now that I am waiting to get the oil changed on the car, maybe I have enough time to catch up with the blog. We last left off in California at the beach. Well, we had a safe flight back home. Shortly after our return, Grandma and Grandpa flew in from Connecticut. For once they had a flight with no problems, in fact they arrived early. We had a nice visit to the park, and Caitlin had an enjoyable ride on the Carousal.

The reception
Wow, James has been married for almost a month, and I am just getting to the reception. I am way behind. The reception site was perfect. The ocean was near by, there was room for kids to play, the dining room was spacious and well decorated, there was a candy room, and who can forget the ice sculpture. Everyone had a wonderful time talking, eating, and dancing.

The Rehearsal
After a wonderful week which included a trip to Solvang and playing with Betsy, David, Nathan and Matthew in Lompoc, the rehearsal for James and Tracy's wedding arrived. The rehearsal went smoothly. The kids were adorable. After the rehearsal, we had a delicious dinner at the Harbor Restaurant with a relatively short speech by Papa Gizmo.
